RI Condo Law Attorney for 40 Years

Beginning in 1985

Raymond Harrison, Esq., was admitted to the practice of law in Rhode Island in October 1985. At that time, Ray was already focused on RI Condo Law. He had decided that his first home purchase would be a condominium home. Ray was a busy young man with an active schedule. A friend who was knowledgeable about real estate had recommended that a condominium home would be best for a busy guy. This sounded like a good idea to Ray who began to check out residential condominium communities earlier in 1985.

Why a Condominium Home?

The year 1985 was a pivotal year for our Rhode Island condominium community. Condos were catching on as a new residential alternative to single-family home ownership. The first condo building boom occurred in the mid 1980s and was going strong at that time. Residential condos were attractive to busy young people as well as retirees and others who preferred not to be concerned with the exterior building and grounds maintenance of a home. Ray moved into his new condominium home early in 1986 and volunteered to be the first unit owner association president in 1987.

RI Condo Law

Ray was studying RI Condo Law before he became a Rhode Island attorney. Ray read his first condominium Public Offering Statement before October 1985. While searching for a condominium home, he read many Public Offering Statements for various condominium developments. Ray became familiar with all of the components of condominium documents including declarations, bylaws, rules, association budgets, condominium plans and condominium insurance along with many others. He also began to read the 100+ page-long RI Condo Law on a regular basis before October 1985.

RI Condo Law Only

All of Ray’s legal education was outside of Rhode Island, at Suffolk University in Boston and at Oxford University in England, but he has never practiced law outside of Rhode Island. He has always felt that the best results may be achieved for clients by an attorney whose efforts are focused exclusively on the law that applies to them. Forty years of experience has proven that this singular focus has created a deep and complete knowledge of RI Condo Law. Practicing RI Condo Law all the time, instead of practicing multi-state condo law, seemed like the best approach to Ray.

Experience is the Best Teacher

Everyone with experience in a job knows that experience is the best teacher, and that applies to attorneys also. A law school friend, who had begun to practice a year earlier, told Ray in 1985 that experienced legal secretaries knew more about practicing law than a new attorney. RI Condo Law isn’t learned in law school, it’s learned over many years helping many executive boards and property managers with every legal issue that can arise in a Condo Association.

More than Just a Legal Practice Area

RI Condo Law has always been more than just another legal practice area for Ray. He has devoted himself during all of his legal career, and most of his life, to helping executive board members and property managers operate condominium associations in the best interests of the unit owners. Ray has developed an unwavering commitment from being a condominium homeowner, an association president, and an advocate for condo associations and unit owners on municipal and state government levels. For 40 years he has brought an additional professional commitment to every case he’s handled as a RI Condo Law practitioner.

Commitment to RI Condo Law Continues

Ray has no plans to retire because he is fulfilled by helping executive board members and property managers. He is committed to practicing and improving RI Condo Law for the benefit of condominium associations. For every condo question, he has an answer, and for every condo problem, he has a solution, because of his commitment and 40 years of experience.
